Making the inaccessible, accessible
In Maharashtra many ancient temples, forts and other tourist attractions are situated at inaccessible high altitudes which could be accessed only by the adventurous.
Now under the program “ Making inaccessible, accessible”; these temples, forts and tourist attractions will be made accessible to all by ropeway and funicular.
Recently a funicular railway started operations at Malanggad ; a 7th century hill fort and a pilgrimage centre; reaching a height 800 meters in just 4 minutes. Earlier the devout and the adventurous had to climb 2500 steps to reach the place.
Hon’ble Additional Chief Secretary Smt. Manisha Patankar Mhaiskar (I.A.S.) visited the Haji Malang Funicular Trolley Project at Ambarnath, Thane, which has been successfully completed under the BOT model.
